I love smoothies for their simplicity and how they make a satisfying meal or treat. I whipped up this shake last week when I was busy, on the go, and in need of a sweet fix. It is definitely Starbucks inspired, but made healthy, of course. Try it with a dollop of Coconut Chantilly Cream for the ultimate Banana Mocha Shake experience.
Feel free to play with variations too. St. Patty’s Day is just around the corner, and this makes a fantastic peppermint mocha shake as well. Just add a few drops of peppermint extract. Tint your Coconut Chantilly Cream green and garnish with green and white sprinkles. It’s so good, you’ll feel like it’s your lucky day!
Banana Mocha Shake
1 ¼ cup unsweetened plain almond milk
1 large frozen banana
1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
2 tablespoons cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
2 tablespoons agave nectar
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into a serving glass and top with your favorite whipped topping. Garnish with cacao nibs, chocolate shavings, chocolate covered espresso beans, or a pinch of espresso powder.

delish! just made these for breakfast & they came out fabulously! I am a starbucks addict so this is a wonderful healthier option that still gives me my coffee fix.
Yay! So glad to hear you loved it. I’m pretty hooked on this one too.
This looks heavenly! Extra points for simplicity.
YUM!
